Our Rating

7 / 10

Most technology encourages us to sit on our butts and scroll or call out to a virtual assistant to handle a task. I recently tested two smartwatches – the Special Editions of the Kospet Tank M3 Ultra and Kospet Tank T3, and not only do they make me want to be more active and healthy, but they’re klutz-proof for this clumsy gal.

Built Like a Tank to Withstand Almost Anything

I’d like to say I’m graceful, but that’d be a lie. For example, I opened the Kospet M3 Ultra smartwatch and immediately dropped the watch itself. The good news: both Kospet smartwatches are built like tanks. The design is to keep them from breaking when you’re hiking, swimming, and doing other types of exercise.

For me, they’re klutz-proof, so when I drop them, bang them into stuff, and expose them to my daily clumsiness, they’re somehow still going strong. I may have a bruise or two, but the watches are fine.

Both watches have 15 MIL-STD-810H certifications and successfully passed 28 internal tests to stand up to drops, bangs, bumps, and the elements. They’re waterproof up to 50 meters and IP69K water resistant. Essentially, they have military grade durability and are both shock-proof and corrosion proof. Whatever you throw at them, they can handle.

The Kospet Tank T3 features a rugged zinc alloy body, while the Kospet Tank M3 Ultra sports a stainless steel body. Both have Corning Gorilla glass faces, which is a necessity for those of us dropping our watches and having them bounce off the edge of a table when we take them off.

These special edition watches also have 316L stainless steel bands in addition to a silicone bands. This incredibly durable band matches the watch’s tank-like build perfectly. But, it’s stylish and works well for both everyday wear and special occasions. Of course, having two straps in this special edition set gives me even more style options.

Can Track Several Health Metrics

I usually don’t pay much attention to my health until I feel bad. Yet, while testing these Kospet smartwatches, I found myself tracking several metrics and paying close attention to how they change, along with why they’re changing.

Both the Tank T3 and Tank M3 Ultra let me track:

  • Heart rate
  • Blood pressure
  • Blood oxygen level
  • Stress
  • Mood
  • Sleep

Handy charts on the watch itself and in the Kospet Fit app show me trends. I can even get alerts for sudden changes in my heart rate. Plus, the crisp displays, especially the M3 Ultra’s AMOLED, made it easy to see all my stats.

I had fun checking my mood and stress levels randomly. To no one’s surprise, checking my mood after suddenly waking up showed I wasn’t the happiest camper.

Having access to quick and easy health-monitoring tools has made me far more aware of my health and even made me want to be more active. And, thanks to how durable the watches are, I’m not afraid of breaking them.

More Activities Than I Know What to Do With

I read the box and saw that the Kospet smartwatches support more than 170 sports modes and recognize six sports movements. I can’t even think of that many activities, but I’m glad they’re all there, just in case I decide to take up some new random activity. Of course, with my track record, I probably shouldn’t do anything extreme, like rock climbing, but the watches are capable of tracking that, too.

For me, I stuck with the basics: walking, running, and cycling. I was impressed that the watches track both indoor and outdoor versions of these activities. For outdoor tracking, GPS is built in to show your path and distance. The Kospet Tank M3 Ultra even has a built-in compass and barometric altimeter.

Another favorite feature is setting daily goals. For instance, if I want to get 10,000 steps in, I just select my walking activity, set the daily goal, and check in now and then to see how I’m doing. I get to see how well I’m sticking to my goal with a chart on the watch and app.

The Tank M3 Ultra features dual-band GPS, with support for six satellite positioning systems for accurate location tracking. What this means is highly accurate tracking for any adventure you happen to go on.

The only issue I ran into is that occasionally, the GPS takes a while to find my location. The first time, it took almost five minutes to get set before I could start my outdoor walk. After that, it worked well several more times, then had a long delay again. I was in a nice open space outdoors and had all the proper settings on, so I’m not sure what happened.

I’m Never Out Of Reach

If I’m out of cell range, then I’m out of reach, but as long as I have cell service, I’m never out of reach and don’t have to dig for my phone to get calls and app notifications. I can even control my music straight from the Kospet smartwatches.

Both watches let me sync my contacts, but the app only recognizes about half of my contacts automatically. I can manually add contacts in the Kospet Fit app, but it’s kind of inconvenient if you have numerous contacts to add. The watches support up to 100 contacts.

But, once I added my contacts in manually, it was super easy to make and receive calls, and the sound was surprisingly good.

However, I never could receive a text. I tried it with both the Samsung Messaging app and Google Messages. The Kospet Fit app does have a list of apps that allow notifications and even shows me a list of other apps I can add, but neither messaging app was on it.

Not having access to texts was a bit of a bummer, but I did get alerts about new emails. I guess if anyone needs me badly enough, they’ll just have to call.

It’s Okay If I Don’t Charge Often

When you have too many gadgets, it’s inevitable that you’ll forget to charge some of them. I’m guilty. Both Kospet smartwatches last up to 15 days with normal use and up to 50 days on standby. They also charge super-fast, reaching around 50 percent in less than an hour.

For me, I only tested for a week, and they never ran out of charge. I can say they were still going strong after seven days of typical daily use.

The ultra-compact magnetic chargers are also easy to slip into any bag if you’re traveling. As with most gadgets, I do wish they came with adapters, but it’s just the USB cables.

Customize Look And Preferences

The Kospet Tank T3 and Tank M3 Ultra put customization first. With numerous watch faces to choose from, I’ll always have a new look to try. Plus, I can easily make changes to what shows in my quick access menu, the order of apps, and what I want to track and how.

Of course, I can also switch out the bands to change the physical look.

The Rugged Solution for Clumsy People

Kospet Tank T3 and accessories.

Clumsy, but want a smartwatch that can keep up with you? I found the answer with the Special Editions of the Tank T3 and Tank M3 Ultra from Kospet. These two smartwatches worked beautifully for tracking health and activity. I wasn’t quite as thrilled when it came to calls and messages, but at least there is a workaround for adding contacts. Plus, the highly rugged, military-grade design is ideal for most outdoor activities and adventures.

Kospet Tank M3 Ultra Accessories

You can pick up the Kospet Tank T3 for just $175.96, which is ideal for most users, or the Kospet Tank M3 Ultra for $208.95, which is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who love hiking, climbing, and other activities where GPS is highly beneficial.
